Ultimately a time is coming
when men shall cry in fear
at the glory in the heavens
when the Lord shall appear

descending as He said He would
with shout and trumpet peal
returning in such great power
in wrath of greatest zeal

a destroying breath is in His mouth
damned are the wretched foe
terror the world has never known
no mercy will He show

men shall cry for the rocks to fall
upon their heads of shame
and they shall know Christ has come
in the power of His name

earth’s greatest army is destroyed
deep the river of blood
vast and complete God’s wrath consumes
not one escapes the flood
____
melting fire engulfs the wicked
who can escape its flame
no longer will such evil reign
where sin once had domain
____
His glory shall be known to men
His angels and redeemed
as King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Christ rules on earth supreme
